Yeovilton Spring Model Show

The first show outing of 2011 for the club takes place on Saturday 19th February at the now familiar location of the superb museum at RNAS Yeovilton. We have 24 ft of space allocated next to the Corsair, though I believe we are on the other side this year. This one’s always a popular event for club members and visitors alike.
Doors open to the public from 10:00am. More details on the event can be found on the museum’s website;

Annual Competition/Christmas Night

After last months round of judging for the class winners and runners up, the club’s final  meeting of 2010 will see a Best in Show winner crowned and awarded the John Cox Memorial Trophy.  A record 52 entries were seen last month from 13 members. Superb!!

All 13 members will need to bring all of their models back with them in case they are required for the ‘vote off’ for the overall winner. Members who entered in the ‘I ran out of’ class will not be required to do so as entries are not eligible for Best in Show.

Voting was very tight in some classes with positions being decided by just a few points. Class winners will be announced at 8:30pm, so be prompt!!

In addition it is of course our Christmas night – so please bring along some nibbles (tasty treats, Christmas cake, mince pies, biscuits etc, or some soft drink) and possibly something for the raffle. We’ve already had generous donations from Vic Short and Just Add Imagination, but a little something will help proceedings along. You may also of course wish bring along your wife, girlfriend, husband, boyfriend or partner to witness the great spectacle that is the Romsey Modellers Christmas night!!!

Vic Short’s last club meeting

At our November meeting we said goodbye to Vic Short who is leaving the area for pastures new in Suffolk. To thank Vic for all of the hard work he has put into the club over the last 8/9 years we clubbed together to purchase a “small” leaving gift!…
